Rules For Open Pike Tournament

PIKE TOURNAMENT RULES

Blast off: 7:00am. Or first safe light
Weigh In 3:00pm

Each boat must consist of 2 anglers. At least 1 member of the team must be at least 16
years of age. Note: Under 16 years of age must fish with a partner 16 years or older and
must have signed parental consent.

1. All teams must pre-register before launching. After you launch your boat please
proceed to boat check area. You are responsible for your boat launce fee to the marina.

2. Boat checks will begin at 5:30 a.m. Blast off will be at 7:00 a.m. All boats must check
in at Check-In Boat by 3:00 p.m.

3. Un-sportsman like conduct will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification
without refund.

4. Minimum boat length is 14 feet and working live well is mandatory. Livewell must
conform to the MNR guidelines.

5. Artificial lures only. No live or prepared bait is allowed.

6. Pre-fishing is allowed until 5 p.m. the day prior to the event.

7. All Federal and Provincial boating regulations must be adhered to.

8. Only Pike may be kept all other fish must be released immediately.

9. 3 Pike per team with a minimum of 18 inches in length. Pike under size will not be
weighed and will result in a 1-lb. penalty applied against the total weight of the team.

10. It is at the discretion of the Tournament Director to postpone this event due to the
adverse weather. In the event of cancellation entry fees will be refunded in full.

11. In the event of a tie, for any position the cash prizes for that position and the next
position will be added together and distributed equally among the tied teams.

12. No locking permitted.

13. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs may be consumed or in possession of any
competitor or boat during the Tournament hours. 5:30 a.m. to 5:30p.m.

14. No fishing allowed within 100 feet of another boat.

15. Decisions of the Tournament Officials are final. Protest will be allowed up to 15
Minutes after the last Pike is weighted in. A $50.00 deposit must be paid and will be
refunded if protest stands.

16. Competitors may obtain fuel and/or repairs from marinas.

17. Any team disqualified for any reason will not receive a refund of entry fees.

18. All taxes on any prize awards are the responsibility of the recipient.

19. If in the opinion of Tournament Officials any fish that is judged not likely to survive
or is weighted in dead will not be released and 1 lb. Penalty will be applied. A dead fish
is not eligible for big fish prize. Big fish or injured fish can be weighed in anytime during
the day.

20. Personal floatation devices must be worn at all times the combustion engine is
running

21. It is the responsibility of the participant to bring fish up to the weight-in stage from
the boat, and after fish are weighed ,we would like you to return the fish to your boat and
release them out in deeper water as you take your boat out of the water.

22. All boats must check-in with the Check-In Boat by 3:00 p.m. A 5 lb. Penalty will be
applied against any team that does not check-in with Check-In Boat. A late penalty of .5
lbs. per minute will be applied to any team checking-in after 3:00 p.m. If an emergency
situation arises please CALL 911

23. If you have any questions on the rules be sure to clarify with the Organizers prior to
Blast Off.

24. Tournament possession rule: When under power of the main motor your
tournament possession limit cannot exceed the total team limit of 3 fish per team
When culling, you are only allowed to be in possession of 1 fish under your legal
limit.

25. THIS IS A LIVE RELEASE TOURNAMENT.
